This calculator applies the statutory guideline formulas under New York's Child Support Standards Act (DRL Β§240(1-b) / FCA Β§413) and the 2015 maintenance law (DRL Β§236(B)), using the income caps, self-support reserve, and poverty guideline in effect as of March 1, 2026, and the 2026 federal Social Security wage base for the FICA estimator. It does not estimate NYC/Yonkers income tax, does not account for add-on expenses (child care, health insurance, unreimbursed medical), imputed income beyond what you enter, or the many factors a court or mediator may weigh in deviating from the guideline amount. Results are estimates for discussion purposes only, do not constitute legal or tax advice, and are not a guarantee of any outcome. Every situation is different β€” please consult a Winkler Kurtz matrimonial attorney before relying on these numbers.
