Welcome to the Team Rachel J. Aloni, a 30-Year Family Law Veteran and Certified Mediator
Winkler Kurtz Welcomes Rachel J. Aloni, a 30-Year Family Law Veteran and Certified Mediator
Winkler Kurtz, LLP is proud to announce that Rachel J. Aloni has joined the firm as a Partner, strengthening its Divorce, Family Law, and Matrimonial Mediation practice on Long Island.
Winkler Kurtz, LLP is pleased to welcome Rachel J. Aloni to the firm as a Partner. Ms. Aloni brings three decades of family and matrimonial law experience to Winkler Kurtz's growing Divorce, Family Law, and Matrimonial Mediation practice, joining fellow mediator Lindsey M. Albinski in helping Long Island families resolve even the most sensitive disputes with care and strategic skill.
A Rare Vantage Point on Family Court
Admitted to the New York State Bar in January 1996, Ms. Aloni has spent her career seeing family law from every side of the courtroom. Before entering private practice, she worked in the Family Law Division of Suffolk County Legal Aid and with the New York City Corporation Counsel. She went on to serve as a Law Secretary to a New York City Family Court Judge and as a Support Magistrate in both New York City and Suffolk County β experience that gives her a practical understanding of what judges look for and what actually moves a case forward.
"Ms. Aloni is committed to providing knowledgeable, strategic, and compassionate representation to clients navigating divorce and other family-law disputes. Her extensive courtroom and judicial experience allows her to approach each matter with a practical understanding of the legal process and the issues that are most important to the court."
β Winkler Kurtz, LLPStrengthening the Firm's Matrimonial Mediation Practice
Beyond litigation, Ms. Aloni is a Certified Mediator, and she works with clients to resolve family-law disputes through mediation when it offers a lower-conflict, more efficient alternative to the courtroom. Her background as both an advocate and a former Support Magistrate gives her a unique perspective when helping couples reach practical, lasting agreements on custody, support, and the division of assets β while still protecting each client's rights and interests.
Her arrival adds depth to a practice built on a simple idea: clients going through divorce or mediation deserve attorneys who are also seasoned litigators, not just neutral facilitators β so they always know what a court would actually order if mediation isn't the right fit.

Partnering to Protect Long Island Families
With Rachel J. Aloni, Lindsey M. Albinski, and Anastasia V. Larios now leading the firm's family law and matrimonial mediation practice together, Long Island families gain three experienced advocates working as one team rather than a single point of contact. Ms. Aloni and Ms. Albinski lead the firm's mediation practice, while Ms. Larios β a Partner with over a decade of matrimonial and family law experience β focuses on divorce and family-law litigation. Together, the three attorneys share the same approach: listen closely, protect each client's rights and their children's best interests, and steer every case β whether through mediation or litigation β toward the outcome that leaves the family most secure going forward.
Clients can expect that same collaborative standard whether their matter is mediated by Ms. Aloni or Ms. Albinski, litigated by Ms. Larios or another member of the team, or handled jointly β the three attorneys regularly consult one another to make sure each family gets the combined benefit of the team's judgment and experience.
"Ms. Aloni is proud to bring her extensive experience, legal knowledge, and dedication to each client she represents," the firm noted in announcing her arrival.
